Selected recipes (higher-rated - see rating under judges) will be published online and included in our printed Season's Harvest Recipe Book, available in time for Christmas!  Here's how it works.  (There's also a sign-up sheet at the front desk at the store.)

SHARE A RECIPE  RULES
1. Ingredients should be locally grown or purchased, including those from Season’s Harvest. If you can't find it, ask Melissa to get it for you.

2. Please iinclude a statement that the recipe is your own (or a family recipe), or adapted so it's your own. Please don’t copy things off the internet or from a cookbook. You may, however, modify something you found in either place, espcially if it is modifying for gluten-free, dairy-free, sugar-free, etc.

3. When submitting your recipe, please include:
Category; Recipe Title; Ingredeints (measurements please); Preparation (time and details); Serves (how many people)
Optional: What to serve with it, notes or story about how you or your family created this.

We are particularly interested in recipes for special diets, i.e., gluten or dairy free, diabetic, vegetarian or raw food, but all recipes are welcome.

Categories (as they will be published in cookbook):
Starters (appetizers and snacks); Main Course (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner); Desserts; Food storage (Canning/Freezing).

If you wish to tell us a little about how your or our family recipe came about, we’d love to hear your story. The cookbook will also have little tips about healthy eating, cooking, growing, and healthy lifestyles, so please feel free to add your own tips or related stories.

Recipes chosen by our judges will be published online, as space allows, when they come in. Selected recipes (higher-rated) will be published in San Juan Cooks, Health High Altitude Recipes, First and or/personalized editions will be printed in time for Christmas.

SHARE A RECIPE JUDGES

To be a recipe judge, e-mail us at recipe@ridgwaynaturalfoods.com. Please include your phone number and any special dietary considerations (i.e., I'm diabetic and can't test recipes that contain sugar, or I don't can and can't test canning recipes). We’ll follow up with a phone call, then when a recipe comes in, we’ll contact you about testing it. If it's something you or your family won't like, it's not necessary to prepare that one.

If you're willing to try it, we’ll e-mail the recipe to you so you can prepare it out in your own kitchen and serve to your family or friends. Their opinions will help you decide how to rate  the entry.

Post-consumption, please rate the recipe by category, from 1 to 5, and ease of preparation, from A to E. E-mail your final judgement to us at
recipe@ridgwaynaturalfoods.com.  Be sure to give us the recipe title and name of submitter.

1. Excellent, we loved it! Will make it more often.
2. Most of us liked it, would probably fix it again.
3. OK, but not too tasty, needed some modifications.
4. Well, somebody might like it, but we didn’t care for it.
5. Yuk! Not something I’d prepare again.

Also, rate it on preparation time and difficulty.

A. Easy to find ingredients, easy to make.
B. Had to hunt for some ingredients, fairly easy to prepare.
C. Found most ingredients easily, but somewhat complicated and took a while to make.
D. Couldn’t find all the stuff and it took too long to make.
E. Way too complicated and needs too many ingredients I don’t stock. Expensive to make.

Ratings of 1 and 2, A and B will make the printed recipe book. There will be exceptions, of course. For example, a 1-E rating might still be included. A-5 probably won’t make it.

Please feel free to make comments when you send your ratings.
